The Retail Manager role is vital to the continued success of the business – naturally engaging team members and customers, retaining top performers, and sustaining a culture of high productivity. This role oversees the retail operations of our Pharmacy, while keeping our values and vision at the forefront -  with an exceptional focus on creating a world class customer experience through our trusted and expert team. 

About you
As the Retail Manager, you will be a caring, enthusiastic and energetic leader. Your leadership and people skills will be valued highly, and your retail pharmacy and healthcare experience will be a bonus.   Pharmacy and health product details can be taught and learnt, which is what we are willing to do, if you are a great leader and customer service expert from another retail industry. You may even be  a Dispensary Technician who loves to lead, has a flair for retailing and wants to step into a more customer-facing role. 
No matter your experience, you will still need to be a quick learner and enjoy learning new ways of doing things and sharing knowledge with others.
You will have proven Pharmacy or Retail management experience that includes:

  • Leading and developing teams using a strengths-focused approach
  • Championing staff culture
  • Building supplier and customer relationships
  • Seeking out opportunities for collaboration with other teams in the business
  • Buying and merchandising with strong computer skills
  • Sales and promotions strategies, and setting and meeting KPIs

As we have a strong focus on preventative health, an interest in natural health and lifestyle solutions will be valued. 

The business 
Sanders’ vision is to provide exceptional healthcare to the people of Waipa.  We do this with excellent customer service, thoughtful analysis of treatments and solutions, great relationships with other providers and a holistic approach to care.
As a 7 day a week Pharmacy, the work environment is dynamic and changing, and this 30-40 hour a week position will include some rostered weekends.  Our Team work hard for their customers and have fun while doing it.  We’re also known to take time out to celebrate our successes as a team during meetings or head away from site for some fun. 
You will enjoy the continual training to support personal growth and development and the opportunity to make a key contribution to the pharmacy’s growth and future triumphs.
We have a second store opening in Cambridge in 2022, and an opportunity exists for our Retail Manager to contribute to the development of our new store and even lead across both sites.
