1️⃣ Dispensary Technician | Full Time or Part Time

Looking for a dispensary role with real variety, genuine support, and a team that actually looks after you? Read on.

Sanders Pharmacy Te Awamutu is looking for a motivated, reliable Dispensary Technician to join our close-knit team. We're an independently owned community pharmacy that has been part of Te Awamutu since 1953 — and we're proud of it.

We're not a corporate chain. We're a large, friendly, community-focused pharmacy with a genuine commitment to our patients and our people. Our team tell us they feel supported, enjoy coming to work, and love the culture here — and we work hard every day to make sure that stays true.

About the role

This is a varied and rewarding dispensary role with real scope to grow. We serve a wide range of patient populations — including some specialist and unique communities — and our dispensary team handles everything from frontbench patient-facing work to specialised compliance packaging and dispensary administration.

We genuinely tailor this role to suit your strengths and interests. A few of the directions you could take it:

  • Frontline dispensing — if you thrive in a busy, fast-paced primary healthcare environment, our dispensing team offers plenty of that. Whether you love typing, dispensing, stock or being face-to-face with patients - we have the options for you.

  • For the right candidate, there is senior Dispensary Technician level work available — including involvement in running the dispensary and taking on more administrative and leadership responsibility.

  • Blister packing & compliance packaging — we run a significant blister packing operation covering both community and facility patients, including quite unique populations. If you're interested in compliance packaging, or keen to learn to work with our automated packing robot, this could be a great fit and a role you could make your own.

  • Variety across departments — if you'd rather keep your week mixed, we can shape a role that moves across several areas of the dispensary rather than settling into just one.

Wherever your strengths lie, we'll work with you to find the best fit based on your experience, interests and the kind of work that excites you.

You'll be a great fit if you:

  • Hold a Dispensary Technician qualification (preferred)

  • Are organised, detail-oriented and take pride in your work

  • Enjoy being part of a team that genuinely supports each other

  • Are interested in serving a wide and varied patient base

  • Want a role you can grow into — not just another job

What we offer:

  • Full time or part time — while Full time is preferred, we're flexible if you are looking for 3-4 days a week too.

  • Shift options to suit a range of lifestyles, not just the usual 9–5

  • A role shaped around your strengths and experience

  • Senior level opportunities for those ready to step up

  • A supportive, fun team who look after each other

  • Meaningful work serving a wide range of patient populations, including specialist communities

  • The stability of an independently owned pharmacy with over 70 years of community roots

A little about us

At Sanders, we take a holistic approach to patient care — we get in-depth with our patients' wellbeing, not just their medicines. We're innovative, forward-thinking, and always looking for better ways to serve our community. And we do it all as a team.

One of our long-standing team members puts it best: "You spend a lot of time at work and you gotta enjoy where you're at — we're really lucky here."

If you're currently working in pharmacy and wondering if there's something better out there — there is. Come and talk to us.
